Christmas in Carmel

Leana spent her firat Christmas in Carmel with the rest of the Picard family. She had a great time enjoying some sunshine, a walk on the beach, presents, and watching us eat lots of good food.

Fun Videos

Here are a couple videos I just took, the first one showing off Leana's new laugh (and unfortunately revealing the things I have to do to make her laugh). The second one is Leana in her exersaucer, which just a few weeks ago she didn't find amusing and now is very intrigued by and can move herself around to see the differnt toys.

Height: 24.75 inches (75%)

Leana's latest tricks include: rolling over, laughing, grasping objects and putting them in her mouth (her favorite being her own hands), sitting at the dinner table in her Bumbo chair, and drooling.

Cat Nap

I went in to check on Leana while she was napping and found that Mio had joined her. Both cute and a little unnerving.

Decatur Island

We took Leana for her second trip to Decatur Island this weekend, along with friends Melissa, Brendan, Portia, and Luke. The two non-dads stayed and babysat Leana while the rest of us went out for a nice run. The rest of the weekend was spent staying cozy in the cabin, eating good food, and watching as the wind got crazier and crazier. In the end we had to take a bigger boat back to the mainland since there were 6 foot waves. It was still very scary and rocky on the way back in and while my stomach flip flopped and my hands turned white from gripping the car seat so tightly, Leana fell asleep.

Another exciting moment was when Leana rolled over from her back to her front. I was in the kitchen and missed it, and no amount of coaxing could get her to do it again.

3 Months Old

Leana is a quarter of a year old today! It all goes by so fast.

Her latest tricks include: sleeping 10 hour stretches (ok this only happened twice), lots of smiling and semi-laughing, more "talking", superwoman flying pose, a new love of the bouncy chair and kicking her feet around, grasping toys that I dangle in front of her, sitting in her Bumbo chair, and sucking loudly on her fingers as much as possible.

Cannon Beach Getaway

Jeff, Leana and I spent a long weekend in Cannon Beach, OR. Our first little family vacation! Thanks to some generous parents at Bush and a little luck of the draw, we got to spend 4 days in a secluded cabin relaxing and spending time with our little girl.

Fall Colors

The Fall colors are beautiful right now in Seattle. These pictures don't really do them justice. With all the rain we've been having up here we were lucky just to get an afternoon to walk around the Arboretum and stay dry. Leana loved looking at all the colorful trees.

Two Months Old

To celebrate Leana's 2nd month birthday we are headed to California to see friends and family. First stop Berkeley, then San Francisco, and then to Carmel.

No 2 month stats yet, but Leana's latest tricks include: sleeping 7-8 hours at night, pacifier addiction, discovering her vocal chords, and lots of cute smiles.

Hog and Grog

Today was our CSA farms annual Hog and Grog. We went out to Carnation to see the farm. Jeff enjoyed the hog and grog (but was not so fond of the fried pork skin)while I preferred the well stocked dessert bar. Leana chose to sleep through the whole thing.
