With the arrival of Leana's new teeth, along with the fact that she tries to grab our food when we eat, we decided it was a sign that she was ready to taste some food. First she got a "taste" of banana that she sucked off my finger. Next we tried avocado, upping her serving size to a full teaspoon followed by some pear, again she probably got about a teaspoon into her mouth, as well as some on her fingers, socks,chair and bib.
Jeff also wants to note that a few weeks ago while he was eating a kiwi she grabbed it out of his hands and started chomping on it. Rather than stop her and check if kiwi was on the "approved list" of foods, he let her dominate it. Lauren was out running and not aware of any of this until the next morning's diaper change made it clear what she had eaten (think about kiwi seeds).
