Leana's California Adventures

We had a great and busy week in California. A few days in Carmel and then a complete tour of the bay area, including SF, Berkeley, and Marin County. Traveling with Leana at 10.5 months is certainly more of a challenge than our last trips to CA when she wasn't moving yet or eating solid foods but she did really well with all adventures and had a lot of fun seeing and doing so much new stuff!

Leana's First Bike Ride

Today was the first warm and sunny day Seattle has seen in a long time, so we took advantage and took Leana out for her first bike ride on the new bike seat we just got. It sits in front of the bike which is supposed to be better for balance and then you can talk to your child and point things out to her. Jeff and I both took turns riding with Leana and aside from having to keep your knees from hitting the seat and worrying baout your precious cargo, you barely notice that there is anything different.

What did Leana think of her first ride?

10 Months Old!

Something about the double digit months makes Leana seem so old!

Her latest tricks include:
-Standing on her own. She doesn't do it to often, but she can stand for 10-15 seconds now and then very gently sits herself back down.
-New Teeth? Not sure because the last time I tried to check I almost got my finger bit off. But she does have an impressive gap between her two front teeth, inherited from Jeff (see picture below).
-Waving. She (sometimes) waves her arms "bye bye" or when jeff is saying good night and leaving the room.
-Cruising. She can walk along the sofa now to get from one end to another if she sees something motivating enough (cell phones and the camera are big motivators)
-Drinking. She finally figured out that to get the water from her water bottle, she needs to tilt it up. She loves it too, always makes her smile when she gets the water out.

Cal Tri Girls Reunion

Last weekend our house was filled with 8 girls, 2 babies and Jeff. Leana met her buddy Dylan for the first time, who at 4.5 months outweighs Leana by about 3 pounds! She had a lot of fun having another baby in the house and was constantly trying to play with him even though he doesn't do too much just yet. A special trreat for me was being able to go out 2 nights in a row, even though my body could hardly handle the post-10pm bed times. Jeff was really a trooper dealing with all of our girl talk and helping watch both the babies while we were running or went out at night-thankfully both babies are good sleepers!
