Remlinger Farm - 3rd Annual Adventure!

Leana and Julian's 3rd trip to Remlinger Farm with our friends Dana, Willa and Otis (technically Juju was still in my belly the first year).  This year they both got to enjoy so much of the fun things the farm has to offer. My favorite moments:
-Leana and Willa's faces on the roller coaster, and how they kept running back to do it again (see first picture)
-The look on Juju's face when the pony started to actually walk (see picture #3)
-After watching Leana and Willa on the mini Ferris wheel, Juju wanted to take a turn.  When it was time to get in the cage he got scared and wanted me to come with him.  Leana said "I'll help him" and took his hand and held it until Juju was giggling along with her. (see picture last picture)
-On the way home, Leana fell asleep and then woke up for a minute and said "I had a lot of fun Mom" and fell right back to sleep.

Julian - 1.75 Years Old!

21 months seems to have sneaked up on us so quickly!

Julian's favorite things these days are mostly the same: cats, Leana, trucks, trains, cars, planes, etc.  But lately his interest with guitars and string instruments has really become quite his thing.  He finds every guitar or violin in every book we have and gets so excited.  He walks around the house carrying his play guitars and the poor wooden one I bought in Austin is already almost completely destroyed from excited overuse.  He'll even turn things he finds, like pieces of driftwood, into guitars.

Juju's (very clear) words: cat, juice, cake, chick, duck.  He has quite a few not so clear words as well and a few solid sign language ones, like more and thank you.

He still loves his binky but we have managed to keep it an in house/car thing now, so that's a step in the right direction for us.  He also loves his little lovey blankey and having books in his crib (much like his big sister!).  He has also discovered the ipad name and can manage to play a few games on it.  I see a second ipad in our future, since the kids are starting to fight over it!

4th of July Hike

We hiked to Barclay lake yesterday with our friends the Lanctots.  4 miles roundtrip - the perfect distance for both kids - Julian only wants to stay in the backpack for so long and Leana's legs will only last so long walking.  We were impressed with her stamina, she kept up a good pace the whole time and only complained about being tired right before we made it to the lake. We took a nice break at the lake for lunch and wading/throwing rocks in the water.  A beautiful little spot not too far away from Seattle.
