Denny Creek Hike

Last weekend we went for a nice easy hike just off of I-90 called Denny Creek.  The destination was some natural "water slides" formed by some smooth rocks and the creek.  3.5 miles round trip with a slight uphill - Julian made it about 2/3 of the way there before wanting to hitch a ride.  Leana was a trooper and walked (or ran) the whole way.  We had to cross over the COLD water to get to the slides - Jeff carried the kids over because it was a little deep.  Leana had a great time wading in the water and trying to slide down the rocks to Jeff.  Juju dipped his toes in but was more interested in throwing ricks in the water.

Father's Day

Leana took one of her jeweled necklaces and wrapped it up in many layers of tape and paper to give to Jeff for Father's Day.  She told him it was a special, fancy "daddy bracelet" and made sure he tried it on.

Preschool "Graduation"!

Leana finished her second year in the Wedgwood Coop 3-5's class.  What a special year it was for her, being a "Monday Kid" who got to go on amazing field trips and have special cooking snack days.  We got a little book that they worked on all year and you can really see how her handwriting and drawing skills improved over the year.  Can't believe how fast all this has gone by - kindergarten here we come!!!

Last field trip and first one I got to chaperone - Center for Wooden Boats

 Paddling in the Umiak
They also made and their own little wooden boats to float

Special field trip - Tea Party and Teacher Sandi's house followed by making and flying their own kites at the park. Something tells me I should sign Leana up for the 100m dash.
