Leana's 6th Birthday

When you move to a new state a week before your birthday you get to have 2 parties! Leana had a pool party in seattle with her kinder friends and then another pool party at Nana and Papi's house in Carmel Valley. Her favorite things right now are beanie boos and Lego sets, so she got lots of those.  She still loves to be outside and active; she loves swimming,  hula hooping and jumping on trampolines. She is reading more every day and loving 1st grade so far.  Her latest career choice is "5th grade teacher" and her birthday request this year was that we go to the beach and all be together as a family - "no one goes running!" she demanded.

Birthday party at the Wedgwood Pool with a homemade dolphin cake by Nana Kathy that was a big hit with all the kids.

Birthday party #2 at Nana and Papi's house.  I love Juju's expression here.

Little Fish

Leana has really become quite the swimmer this summer.  She passed the swim test at the Wedgwood Pool which allowed her to go everywhere all by herself, even the deep end and off the diving board.  She was so proud of herself!  We were too!  Check her out in the pink swim top swimming across the pool racing against Jeff.

We Moved!

I can't say it was fun but we survived the packing,  driving, unpacking and everything in between. What a crazy month! A 16 foot POD and a 22 foot Penske truck fit all our stuff.  Leana says "I always wanted to move to California but I didn't know ir was going to be this hot!"

End of (Seattle) Summer Fun

Getting ready to say goodbye to seattle. Special tea with Nana, ice cream truck excitement, last dinner at Araya, gymnastics camp and saying goodbye to out neighbor Zia!

Blueberry Picking

Our annual blueberry picking adventure with my former colleague Janice...can't beat the backdrop! Always one of the kids favorite summer traditions.

Kalaloch camping

Catching up on summer back log here....
8 adults and 8 kids made for an awesome camping trip on the Washington coast. We spent 6 straight hours on the beach, went on nature walks, ate lots of smores, and watched a beautiful sunset. A great weekend!
