8 Months Old!
Our little juju is 8 months old! This was a big month for him: first 2 teeth, sitting up *without* falling over for long periods of time, and starting to crawl! Crawling is a loose term for what he is doing, it's more of a full body drag. Leana was very excited about this new development! Already Juju is showing little boy tendencies and a love for cars, which give him the most motivation to drag himself across the floor. Mio is another one of his favorite things in the house, he gets very excited when she is around.
Julian is sleeping well, usually 10-11 hours at night and 3 naps during the day. He is very verbal these days, making sounds that sound like a dinosaur and "dada" sounds. He's eating tons, including finger foods and feeding himself pretty well. Like his big sister, he seems to love fruit and he especially likes guacamole made out of the avocados from Nana and Papi's backyard. Lucky us!

Memorial Day Weekend in CO
This is a bit overdue, but what can I say? Life gets hectic with two kids....
Julian and I went to Breckenridge, CO for a triathlon reunion over Memorial Day weekend. The whole family was supposed to go but when we got tired just thinking about the flight, car ride and other details of going with the whole family we decided Jeff and Leana would stay home for some quality father-daughter bonding time. This was a great choice in the end, because for the first time I got to focus 100% on Juju for 3 full days, and I also get a break from our exhaustive 2.75 year old.
Not that traveling with a 7.5 month old is not exhausting too. But in a different way. I was able to hold normal conversatiions with people without being interrupted, there was no whining, no battles over bedtime, no "mama, mama, mama....". Of course by the end of the 3 day weekend I couldn't wait to hear Leana say "mama" again and overall it was a great weekend. I saw lots of old friends, ran, hiked and hot tubbed. Juju got his first tooth* while we were there and that combined with the 9000+ feet of elevation and late nights all made me even more sleep deprived than usual! All well worth it, of course.
*he now has two teeth!
