A little taste of Spring today...Leana and Jeff went out for a ride.

Easter Weekend at Decatur

We spent the weekend on Decatur Island and were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day on Saturday. Leana loved exploring on the beach, watching the birds, helping to dye the Easter eggs, hunting for them, and most importantly checking out the goods in each egg. Maybe when she has a little more competition she will realize you need to gather the eggs first and then take a look at the bounty. She probably ate more chocolate this weekend than she has in the rest of her life combined!

Stop and Smell the Flowers

Leana walked all the way home with me from the supermarket for the first time the other day. It's about 7 blocks and it took us an hour! Her favorite stops along the way were to smell the daffodils, pick the dandelions (daddy taught her to do that), and look at all the metal animals and colorful pinwheels that one house's front yard is filled with.




Don't be fooled by these pictures...Spring really hasn't arrived yet here in Seattle, we just get a day of sunshine here and there but mostly it has still been cold and rainy. Really looking forward to some real sunshine!

Last weekend I went out of town for the first time since Leana was born. Jeff was left in charge for more than 48 hours all by himself. Leana didn't even seem to miss me (although was happy to see me when they picked me up from the airport). The weekend went so well for everyone, I told Jeff I should get away more often. He did admit he couldn't imagine doing it for a whole week though.

The purpose of my trip: 10th annual reuion with my dorm friends (known as the 7uppers)
