The Canadian Geese were out at Greenlake the other day and Leana was having a blast with them. I'm not so sure they were as amused by her as she was by them.

Last Day of Preschool
Last week Leana and I finished the Parent Education program at Seattle Central Community College. We started in the infant class when she was about 6 weeks old, and now have graduated from the toddler class as well. Many of the moms and kids have been with us since the beginning, as well as Teacher Sally, so it was sad to say goodbye.
On the last day of class, each student got a piece of paper with comments from all of the others parents and teachers about him/her. Here are the comments that Leana got from her 2 teachers:
"The most quietly determined little person I know" - Teacher Sally
"One of the most original, fantastic personalities" - Teacher Daniel
Other comments from the moms included things like: little firecracker, spunky, sparky, and energetic. She had a bit of a reputation in the class :)

Early Father's Day
We celebrated Father's Day a week early in our house since I will be out of town next weekend for the real one. Jeff spent much of the weekend doing manly things of his choice - a long bike ride, video games and beer with his buddies, lawn mowing and hedge cutting with his fancy new hedge trimmer, and a haircut at an all men's barber shop. Yesterday we spent the morning at the Ballard Locks and saw lots of boats, giant salmon in the fish ladder, trains, sea planes, and a great blue heron. Leana was in heaven.

Summer Love
We got a taste of summer this weekend in Seattle, the first real hot and sunny days we have had this year. We went to 3 different parks, with an ice cream stop each day. Leana definitely is taking after her parents and their love of ice cream.
