Weight: 18lb, 3oz (10th%)
Height: 29.5 inches (75th%)
Her newest tricks include:
-Walking! She really gets it now and loves it. She can get herself up on her own feet and everything. She walks with her right hand outstretched like she is constantly reaching for something. It looks a little bit like she is saying "here I come, get out of my way!" and also a bit like she has had a bit too much to drink and is stumbling around. I sense some bruises in her future.
-Molars! This has not been a fun week but her 1st two molars have popped through on top. Total teeth count: 9
-Pointing: She now points at specific objects rather than just anything or nothing. Her two favorite things to point at right now are birds and dogs.
-Talking: A lot more "mama" these days. When she points she often says "dat". Not sure if she means "that" or "dog" or maybe she is just using her own secret language which she seems quite fluent in. She can really get going with babbling, especially when she is "reading" a book which is pretty funny. She often reads the books upside down too.
It's hard to believe a year has gone by already. I can't imagine life without Leana anymore and have loved being home with her (mostly) for this past year. I love watching her learn new things and it has been amazing watching her develop over the year from a little 7lb baby who just slept and ate into the curious, active, energetic, sweet, goofy and beautiful little girl that she now is.
She started to cry soon after this, and would not eat any more frosting!
With her 2 grandmas.
Her favorite part of the party, the ice bucket.
The cupcakes were delicious and beautiful. Maybe Leana will like them better when there are not 30 people staring at her and trying to take her picture while she eats them.
