Our big girl is 4 years old! Leana is so excited about being 4, although she was a little disappointed when she came out of her room on her birthday morning..."but I'm still tiny!" she complained. Jeff and I tried not to laugh and convinced her that her feet were definitely bigger than they had been the day before. After that she was excited to put on her birthday crown and open some gifts, including a new pedal bike that she is very happy about. The rest of the day was filled with excitement as well, starting swim lessons where my friend Anna (aka Anna Ballerina) showed up with a hello kitty balloon and a cake pop. Leana got her report card for swimming and found out she had passed on to the next level. Then we went to Mathew's Beach (Leana's request) to meet friends Lila and Harrison to play, swim, and eat brownies. And this was only until noon. The rest of the day slowed down a bit: Shrek 2 and lots of practice riding the new bike (with training wheels). We finished with Leana's favorite dinner: cheese pizza with lots of olives.
Leana will have her 4 year old appointment next week. Her interests these days are too many to list. She still loves bugs and being outside. She really loves swimming and her daily swim lessons - she has learned so much from these lessons in such a short amount of time, it's amazing. She also loves the Shrek movies, which have gotten her interested in dragons. And her other favorite activities lately are to take care of her growing collection of babies (which take over half her bed). They are all stuffed animals or tiny little plastic animals. She likes to set up school for them, put them down for naps, take them to the doctor, and arrange them in different places around the house.
End of an exciting day! Note the pile of babies and other "treasures" on her bed.
